Create a schedule
1
Open Funding Schedules
Go to Settings › Funding Schedules and tap Add Schedule.
2
Name it and pick a frequency
Choose how often it runs, then its day or days under Paydays.
3
Check the next runs
Next Runs previews the upcoming dates so you can confirm the rhythm.
4
Add buckets
Under Buckets, tap the buckets this schedule should fill, then save.
For monthly and semi-monthly schedules, Last day means the last day of every month, however long it is. A day the month doesn’t have, like the 30th in February, runs on that month’s last day.
If Copper has spotted your paycheck, the schedule can follow it instead of a fixed date. See Paychecks.
A bucket belongs to one schedule at a time. Buckets already on another schedule show its name and can’t be picked. You can also set a bucket’s schedule from the bucket editor, under Funding Schedule.
What each run does
Runs happen around 9 a.m. on each run day, on Copper’s servers, so your phone doesn’t need to be open. Each bucket on the schedule gets its share of what it’s still missing:- Copper counts the runs left before the bucket needs its money: a bill’s due date, or the end of the bucket’s cycle (the calendar month for a monthly bucket).
- Each run funds an even share of the shortfall across those runs, and the last run before the deadline tops the bucket up exactly.
- A bucket that’s already at its target gets nothing.
Missed runs
If a run is missed, the next one catches up on the occurrences it skipped (up to eight at once), then continues on the normal rhythm.Fund now
To fill buckets outside the schedule, tap Fund all at the top of the Buckets tab. Pick one option and Copper shows the total and where it leaves left-to-spend before anything moves:
Savings buckets that mirror an account are never funded.
