Copper on the web

Copper’s web app opens the same budget as your iPhone, on a bigger screen. Sign in with the same email and password. Changes show up on both almost instantly: fund a bucket on your laptop and your phone has it a moment later.

What’s there

The top bar has the same main sections as the app, and the budget switcher lets you move between budgets. Settings are split into sections: You can link a bank from the web too. Plaid opens in a pop-up window, so allow pop-ups if your browser asks. See Connect a bank.

Keyboard shortcuts

Press ? anywhere to see this list in the app. On Windows and Linux, use Ctrl in place of ⌘.

Transactions

Single-key shortcuts are paused while you’re typing in a field or have a dialog open, so they never get in the way.

The command menu

Press ⌘K to open a search box for everything. Type to find:

• Pages and settings sections
• Buckets and transactions
• Actions like New bucket, New bill, Fund buckets, Connect a bank, Export transactions (CSV) and Join a budget with a code
• Your other budgets, to switch to one
• Color themes, and switching between dark and light

What stays on the iPhone

A few things need the iPhone app:

• Plans. Subscriptions are bought and managed through the App Store. See Plans & billing.
• PIN and Face ID lock. See Security & privacy.
• Notifications and widgets. See Notifications & widgets.
• Setting up Apple Pay logging. The web can list and remove devices. See Apple Pay logging.
